THE HAVANA EATERY BaywideT20 Semi-Finals to be Fought Out this Sunday

The Havana Eatery Baywide T20 Championship semi-finalists, will square off this Sunday (31 January 2021) with the two victors meeting in a winner take-all battle at the Bay Oval on Friday 5th February 2021.

Defending Baywide T20 champions Bond & Co Mount Maunganui won pool one, defeating Flying Mullet Te Puke and Papamoa, to progress to the post section play.

The Pool one match-up between Te Puke and Papamoa produced a remarkable bowling performance, when Te Puke first change Cameron Riley scythed through  the Papamoa batting attack, taking seven wickets at a cost of just 11 runs.

Bayleys Central Indians cruised through pool two, beating Generation Homes Lake Taupo by six wickets, and going on to dispatch Craigs Investment Partners Geyser by seven wickets.

Eves Realty Greerton also posted, two from two wins, after getting past Holland Beckett Law Tauranga Boys College and Element IMF Cadets. Greerton batsman Henry Collier smashed 100 runs off 55 balls in their second round robin encounter.

Mount Maunganui, Central Indians and Greerton progressed directly to the semi-finals - with Lake Taupo squeezing into the fourth spot courtesy of a superior run rate, from Te Puke and Tauranga Boys, after all three finished on equal points.
