ND Senior Secondary Tournament @ Rotorua/Mount Maunganui 14-18 December 2020 and ND Secondary Schoolgirls Tournament @ John Kerkhof Park, Cambridge 16-18 December

Congratulations to Bay of Plenty Coastland side who took out the ND Secondary School Championship on finals day of the annual tournament. The Peter Swan coached side raised the Alan Whimp trophy aloft in triumph for the third successive season.

Coastland bowled the ND Invitation XI out for a modest 133, with Liam Collett and Finn O’Brien-O’Loan in top form with three wickets apiece. The Bay team cruised to an eight wicket win, with Blake Pentecost top scoring with an undefeated 52 and Chris Mascall posting an unbeaten 37 runs.

Bay of Plenty Lakeland batsmen Harry Jones, will long remember the 2020 tournament last days play, as he blasted 105 not out in his sides total of 246 for the loss of six wickets against Poverty Bay.

Seventh/Eighth Playoff: Bay of Plenty Lakeland 246/6 (Harry Jones 105no, Matt Ward 51) defeated Poverty Bay 169.
