ND Under 19 Tournament - 4 to 12 December

The ND Under 19 cricket team, to play at the NZ Cricket Under 19 tournament at Lincoln in Canterbury 4-12 December 2019, has a strong Bay of Plenty presence in the side with four Bay players earning selection.

Fergus Lellman, Ben Pomare and Tim Pringle, recently played for the New Zealand Under 19 side in a five match series against their Bangladesh counterparts. Jacob Logan has also been selected for the ND team, with Taylor Bettleheim chosen as a non-travelling reserve.

Fergus Lellman is an all-rounder of considerable ability, with a century and a number of wickets in the recent international age-group series showcasing his talents. Ben Pomare is a wicket keeper of rare ability with his work behind the stumps catching the ND selectors eye. Tim Pringle burst into the Bay of Plenty senior representative team two seasons ago, becoming the youngest player to be selected beating Kane Williamson’s previous mark.

Jacob Logan has earned his ND Under 19 stripes, on the back of some sterling performances with both bat and ball in the ND Development competition. Taylor Bettleheim, will draw considerable benefits as one of the non-travelling reserves, training with the side before the South Island tournament.

Bay of Plenty Cricket legend Graeme Aldridge will co-coach the team, with Chris Kuggeleijn, who played one game for Bay of Plenty in his illustrious playing career. Another former Bay of Plenty representative in Fraser Lellman will assist with the management of the team.
