Posted: Thursday, 2 March 2023

A dominant performance from the Greerton Cricket Club lads have seen them add another trophy to the cabinet this season.

Strong with bat in hand, Greerton put 449 runs on the board with Charles Williams (171) Anish Desai (73) and Tom MacRury (56) top scoring.

Special mention to Tauranga Boys' College Cricket bowler Loughlin Keaney who bowled a mammoth 37 overs, taking 3 wickets.

With a huge task ahead, Tauranga Boys had no reply, finishing up on 139 with Tim Clarke (42) top scoring with the bat as Tom Macrury ripped through the line up taking 6 wickets for 59 runs.

Player/Coach Anish Desai couldnt be prouder of his side and was full of praise for the senior team members who led the way.

"The result exceeded even our expectations. We couldn’t have performed much better as a team both with bat and ball led by Potsy’s 171. I am extremely proud of what the boys have achieved this season. To finish with 2 trophies including winning the first ever 2 day final for the baywide and the clubs first t20 comp is something the club very proud of."
