DANIEL FLYNN RE-SIGNS AS HEAD COACH FOR THIRD SEASON

Posted: Monday, 19 September 2022

Daniel Flynn has re-signed as the Head Coach of the Craigs Investment Partners Bay of Plenty side.

Flynn enters his third summer in the role and is looking forward to continuing with the group.

"I really enjoy working with the current group of players and their hunger to get better.

"For me, Bay of Plenty provides a good challenge to ensure I’m providing an environment that helps them become the players they want to be."

The former Northern Districts captain will also return to the domestic scene, joining the ND Women's programme as Performance and Talent Coach.

Ian Sandbrook, Northern Districts GM Performance and Talent is delighted to add Flynn to the wider team.

“It’s fantastic that we have someone of Daniel’s capability and experience joining our female performance programme. His appointment reflects our commitment to a coaching pathway and collaboration with our District Associations,” said Ian Sandbrook, Northern Districts GM Performance and Talent.

Flynn acknowledges joining the ND Women's programme is a new environment.

"I’ll have to build up trust to prove I have the knowledge and expertise to help make them better players. "

“It’s a new challenge for me, one I am really looking forward to.

"Hopefully I can add some value to the women’s programme. From a personal perspective, it’s a great opportunity to learn off Jo (Broadbent), who has a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience,” said Flynn.

Back in the Bay, Flynn is looking forward to getting a full season of fixtures in after the disruptions to last season.

"We have a relatively young group that hopefully continue to learn and grow their games.

"Individually, I just want to help them to gain a strong understanding of their own game so they can become their own best coach."
