ABOUT NORTHERN DISTRICTS CRICKET

Northern Districts Cricket is involved at many levels within its boundaries with 6 district associations, 512 club and business house teams and 753 secondary and primary school teams.

Northern Districts Men's team is consistently one of New Zealand's most successful domestic cricket teams and in recent seasons have supplied more players to the BLACKCAPS than any other side. ND’s vision is for cricket to be a game for all people, and aspires to produce the best players, and have the most people participating in the game.

ROLE SUMMARY:
As Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the leadership of all aspects of the Northern Districts Cricket Association (NDCA), and for working with the Board to ensure the successful implementation of strategy and policy. You will provide clear and supportive leadership to NDCA staff and will oversee the management and development of the game for the region that encompasses Northland, Counties Manukau, Waikato Valley, Hamilton, Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay.

You must successfully balance the growth and welfare of the game with sound financial management, and strong and vibrant relationships with the players, supporters, volunteers, media, commercial partners, New Zealand Cricket and all other stakeholders regionally and nationally.

You will develop and maintain lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with present and prospective sponsors and funding partners as well as maximising opportunities for new revenue generation or cost mitigation through appropriate sponsorships, partnerships, and management practices.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• A sound understanding of community funding, sponsorship and marketing.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills and experience within a diverse group of interests, preferably within a publicly visible environment.
• Financial management within a tightly controlled environment, requiring careful cost and cash flow management.
• An understanding of, and passion for, professional sport, and particularly the values and traditions of cricket is preferred but not essential.
• A willingness to be actively involved in the delivery of international and domestic cricket matches.

This is an exciting opportunity for an up and comer to lead the strategic direction for one of New Zealand’s most high profile and successful 1st class cricket associations.
