The  Bay of Plenty Development team, will enter the second half of the ND Development competition, that kicks off again in February 2018, with a one win – one loss record, after being defeated by Waikato Valley at the Tauranga Domain on Sunday (19 November 2017).

The home team won the toss and elected to bat, with the Bay side in early trouble. Alastair Blackett steadied the ship and worked his way to 23 runs before being dismissed.

Ruben Clinton continued the fight back but when he was removed for 22, the Bay of Plenty second eleven were still in trouble at 88/6. A tenth wicket stand, between Cam Riley and Craig Baldry produced 29 runs, as Bay of Plenty were removed for 141. Cam Riley finished his turn at bat with his sides top score of 26 runs.

Cam Riley struck early in the Waikato Valley reply having the visitors in real trouble, at two down with just 2 runs on the board, in the third over. However half centuries to Campbell Child and Jake Russ took Waikato Valley to a five wicket win in the 40th over.
