JEET RAVAL TO JOIN THE BOPCA BOARD

Posted: Thursday, 16 December 2021

Bay of Plenty Cricket Association is thrilled to welcome professional cricketer, Northern Brave men’s team captain and Greerton Cricket Club new recruit, Jeet Raval, to the board.

Raval is looking forward to implementing his in-depth cricket knowledge and financial expertise to help shape cricket in the region - from grass roots to high performance.

“It’s an honour to be given the opportunity to be on the board of BOPCA.

Cricket in our region is going through a significant change as the numbers continue to increase with the success of Blackcaps and White Ferns around the globe. With that comes the challenge to ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to participate and improve their skills to be the best they can be.

I hope to add value to the existing board by combining my cricket experience together with the financial reporting skills acquired through my time working with BDO accountancy firm in Tauranga.”

Bay of Plenty Cricket Chairman Shaun Riley was impressed with the calabre of applicants and is excited to have Raval’s input at a governance level.

“The BOPCA Board is delighted that Jeet Raval has accepted a role as Board member. We received a number of very high quality applicants and the recruitment committee had a difficult task. However Jeet’s governance, financial experience and his extensive cricket knowledge made him the ideal candidate. We thank everyone that applied and the Board looks forward to Jeet’s involvement moving forward.”

Jeet Raval is currently the captain of the Northern Brave Super Smash team and contracted to Northern Districts Cricket Association. He has represented NZ as an opening batsman for the Blackcaps as well as stints at Yorkshire, Auckland and Central Districts.
