BIG NAMES AND BIG HITTERS ON SHOW FOR ROUND 3 OF THE BAYLEYS BOP CUP

Defending BOP Cup holders, Eves Realty Greerton are at home facing top of the table Bond & Co Mount Maunganui on Saturday. Mount Maunganui will be hoping captain, Ben Musgrave, puts on another masterclass with the bat after scoring 65 and 43 respectively in the first two rounds. The team also welcomes back former NZ U19 bowler, David Hancock who is making his first appreance this season.Northern Districts batsman, Jeet Raval is back in the black and yellow and will be hoping to replicate his form from round 1 where he scored 92 off 105 balls. Big hitter, Brett Hampton will also return to the side so expect some runs to be scored in this match up.

 

After a bye last week, Holland Beckett Law Tauranga Boys College will be keen to get a win under their belt against a strong Element IMF Otumoetai side. Otumoetai will be looking to Tim Pringle to continue on his form which currently sees him topping the player rankings with both bat and ball – amassing 155 runs and 6 wickets in just two games.

 

On the back of a nail-biting win against The Generation Homes Lake Taupo team, Papamoa will be looking carry on that winning feeling against a winless Flying Mullet Te Puke side. Te Puke captain Blair McKenzie is the one to watch with the bat, averaging just shy of 50 runs so far in the competition.

 

After showing how a run chase should be done last week, the Bayleys Central-Indians will be hoping to replicate their dominate performance as the two Rotorua teams go head-to-head. The duo of Player Coach, Anish Desai and Bharat Popli who helped the Central-Indians chase down last weeks total with 8 wickets to spare, are both named in the side which also includes the 2nd ranked bowler in the competition with 6 wickets so far, Andrew Gibbs. Craigs Investment Partners Geyser City will be wanting to get a with under their belt after two straight losses, Samuel Devereaux has been a stand out for Geyser, scoring 65 not out (off 56 balls) and taking 3 wickets at an economy rate of 2.80 last round.
