BOP Senior Women Saturday 23rd

Bay Of Plenty Senior Women Have Experienced Line-Up For Two Nd Forty Over Games At Fergusson Park

The Bay of Plenty Senior Women’s team, have a side with plenty of representative experience, for their two ND Women’s Forty Over games at Fergusson Park in Tauranga on Saturday and Sunday (23/24 January 2016).

A ND T20 catch-up match scheduled for Friday afternoon, between Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay will see the Bay side given the win points on offer, with Poverty Bay unable to field a team for the match.

On Saturday, the Bay of Plenty Women’s representatives will square off against long-time rivals Hamilton, before backing up against Waikato Valley the next day. The Bay of Plenty side enters the 40 Over competition, with two wins and two losses from the ND T20 contests.

Kate Anderson was in outstanding form with the bat in the ND smash and bash competition. First up against Northland, Kate blasted an unbeaten 93 in her sides total of 122 for the loss of two wickets. Facing ND heavyweights Hamilton, Kate again top scored for her team with 57 runs and added two wickets with the ball for good measure.

Bay of Plenty Senior Secondary Schoolgirls captain Brianna Perry led her team to the ND title in December 2015, with an unbeaten record. She will be joined in the team by Bay Secondary Schoolgirls team-mates in Holly Topp, Macy Adams and Nensi Patel.

The Bay of Plenty side is well served in the bowling ranks with the inclusion of Nensi Patel and Piki Tai, who both took eight wickets apiece, in last season’s Bay of Plenty Senior Women’s matches. Another to shine with the ball is Macy Adams, who was awarded the bowling trophy at the 2015 ND Senior Secondary Schoolgirls tournament.
